as casual fan, l find these home run derby games as boring as the NBA`s 3 point shootout games.

Agreed (as a serious fan). This is why most of the season was so good - more running, hitting to all fields, less station to station ball.

I’m ok with what we are seeing HR wise right now. Some of them have come at pivotal times and that is exciting. For example, the Garcia grand slam last night was awesome.

Yes, I meant more. I don't mind home runs, but not the HR derby the game had devolved into the passed few years.

Unfortunately, I think teams will continue to put a stronger emphasis on scoring via the home run in postseason play. Pitching is managed so differently in October compared to the regular season. Starters get less leeway, so hitters might only see the starter for one two at bats. Then they turn it over to the bullpen, and the teams will do everything they can to only use their best and most effective relievers. It’s gotta be harder for a lineup to get into a rhythm and string singles together when they’re seeing all these pitching changes and relievers throwing 100 with nasty sliders, etc. So instead the hitters sell out for power and try to put the ball over the fence.
I am pleasantly surprised to see both Championship Series go the distance. It didn’t look like it would after the first few games.
It’s impressive that the Rangers won the ALCS in 7 in Houston after blowing it in their home games. They are a more resilient team than I thought.

Glad to see the Rangers win last night, but it would have been more entertaining if the game wasn't essentially over by the 2nd inning!

Ive heard he wants to stay in the game. It might be that he dislikes analytics, and the Houston ownership loves them.
Pretty impressive that rookie pitcher Brandon Pfaadt is the probable starter for Arizona in Game #7 tonight. 24 years old, first year in the big leagues. His regular season numbers won't knock your socks off, but he at least managed to stick around at the big league level throughout the second half of the season as a rookie starter on a team in a Wild Card race. He has 3 starts under his belt in the postseason. His record is 0-0, but his team was ultimately 3-0 in games that he started. I'm curious to see how he performs tonight. That Philly lineup is tough! And he managed 5.2 innings in his start against them in Game #3 of the NLCS.

My guess is every pitcher is preparing to pitch tonight for the Dbacks. At max, he'll go through the lineup twice, but probably not that far.

I am not a fan of Baker. I bleed Dodger Blue. He is one of my least favorite Dodger players of all time.
