MLB 2025

Yesavage ain’t looking super sharp tonight. To be fair, the team is asking a lot of this kid. Just a handful of big league starts under his belt and now he’s making big starts in the ALCS. Probably a quick hook for him tonight. The earlier the M’s get into the Jays’ bullpen, the better it is for their chances of taking another road game 😰 At least the Blue Jay bats are getting to Gilbert too.

The FOX guys are so disinterested in the Mariners that they're showing them cut up and eat a turkey on TV.
I'm guessing we won't see or hear about the turkey when Toronto is batting.

That kind of stuff is frustrating. I get it, bigger markets bring in more money, but if you're not going to be impartial, then give us local alternatives.

Hard to say! The Jays had nearly a full week off between Game #162 of the regular season and the start of the ALDS. The time off didn’t seem to hurt them in that case. They had ~3 days off between ALDS and ALCS and they didn’t look super hot in the first game… but there’s lots of ball left to play.
I'm just going to shut up now, if that's possible. I get nervous when the Mariners do too well. It means the world is likely to end, and there are still innings left in this game, let alone the next few games.

At least it isn't like Friday night's game that was near fatal for a whole lot of people in Seattle. I hope they got that kind of agony out of their systems.

Fine by me, let ‘em. Mariners are doing what they need to do. Had to step out and came back to a 9-3 M’s lead.

NLCS begins today! :hyper:

The Brewers are a very good team. They've won the NL Central four times in the past five seasons, and have only missed the postseason once from 2018-2025. They've proven they can build a very good regular season team. Unfortunately, postseason success has been limited. One NLCS appearance in 2018 and zero World Series appearances. It's time to prove it in the postseason! They are going up against a team that is very familiar with their situation. The Dodgers almost always win their division (every season from 2013-2025 except 2021 when the Giants were playing out of their heads) but they didn't capture a World Series title until 2020. Even then, some naysayers did not consider the 2020 WS win a 'real' one because of the kooky COVID season. I think in 2024 they might have silenced the critics.

The Brewers handled the Dodgers quite well in the regular season (6-0!) but all those games were played during their incredibly hot month of July, coincidentally while the Dodgers were on a bit of a cold streak. Hard to say if that means anything, but at the very least the Brewers have shown fairly recently that they can match up against LA. The Brewers are catching the Dodgers at an interesting time. The Dodgers' lineup hasn't exactly been firing on all cylinders so far in the postseason, although you never know when that might change, and the Dodgers' bullpen is rather questionable. They really need the starting pitching to show up for them. Or for one or two relievers to remember how to pitch better. I'm sure LA and their fans would like that 😂 I have a hard time picking against the Dodgers because of how deep they are, but I believe this could be the year for Milwaukee.
The Dodgers are a different team from where they were in July. If Ohtani comes out of his funk, and Mookie and Freddie are on, I like our chances. The wild card is Roberts. He has a habit of messing things up at the worst possible time.
