MLB 2025

Things are getting serious now. I'm guessing I don't have any chance of seeing a 1-0 or 2-1 game between these two expansion teams.
I wonder if the Jays are going to have Stieb start game five. :)

I would love to see a vintage Dave Stieb start tonight! But I guess Kevin Gausman will have to do.

Last night's game went a lot better than I had hoped. Scherzer nearly got them 6 innings! His fastball velocity was solid and his breaking pitches were working well. The time off was good for him. Seeing him all fired up during that 5th inning mound visit 🤩 Very happy for him.

Andres Gimenez was once again the unlikely hero. 2-run HRs in the 3rd inning two nights in a row. He's a treat to watch play shortstop but typically not a great hitter. The contributions from the 7-8-9 spots in the Jays' lineup the last couple nights have been huge.

Doesn't hurt that Vladdy is on a tear right now. 15 for 33 so far this postseason with 5 HR, a couple 2B, 4 walks, and only one strikeout. He has an impressive combination of hit and power tools and strike zone awareness. When he's locked in like this, it's a challenge to get him out. He won't chase bad pitches and strike himself out.

This is basically a best-of-three series now. I don't think home field advantage means much after how the first four games have played out, but two of three remaining games are in Toronto if it goes the full seven. I can't wait for first pitch tonight!

Personally would love to see the fence move back 50’
Unfortunately, baseball thinks the exact opposite today:

1. Go back to the times when baseball was the number 1 sport: Tiger Stadium 440, Yankee Stadium 490-460, etc. There never would have been "the catch" by Willie Mays without the Polo Grounds.

2. A number of the newer stadiums (Citi Field, Comerica Park) started moving the walls closer. Only Baltimore moved them back, and people went nuts in protest.

The Dodgers have/had what some have called the "Double Digit Run Curse". If they scored 10 or more runs in the previous game, the next following game they would be lucky to score one or two runs.
Seemingly not an issue for the Jays, unfortunately. Well, it ain't over 'til it's over!
