MLB 2025

Interesting Stats. The Mets, Dodgers and Blue Jays reinvest a very high percentage of their revenue back into their players where as other teams near the bottom of the of the list do not and put the profits into their own pocket. Note the New York, Massachusetts and California in some cases are states that apply an additional Luxury tax to the payroll.

Stupid Jays!
As a Jays fan, I am getting a little annoyed with their manager over-thinking things, especially pitching.
The last time the Jays were in the playoffs, he took Barrios out in the fourth because analytics and they got trounced! Last night, he put in Little, who hasn't pitched well in months, in the important part of the game and once again, they got pounded.
It was a mockery of a travesty!
I can't help but think that when all this is said and done, it may cost Schindes his job.
Agreed. The reasoning for using Little (they wanted to show the M's hitters different looks) was weak at best. The night before, they used Hoffman in the 8th with a 6 run lead. Why not use Little in that scenario!? Little should have stayed in the 'pen. They could have put Hoffman in the game, maybe get a 6-out save. Go to Dominguez if Hoffman gets into a jam. I would have even liked them to just leave Varland in the game and try to get a couple more outs. Any of these options was better than Little in a 2-1 game!

Here we go, one of the most exciting events in sports, a game seven.
I imagine this one can be tough for baseball managers. You want to go all out to win, but you can't go all out and empty the bench since the next best of seven starts Friday.

This is a philosophical choice, IMHO.

I'd say it is every body must be ready... if we don't win, Friday is irrelevant.

Max Scherzer in relief? You betcha...

Absolutely! If the Jays win tonight, they have home field advantage in the World Series. There's no travel. Use the whole bench, empty the bullpen, do whatever it takes to win. Probably the only guys off limits tonight are Yesavage (just pitched last night) and Gausman (threw 5.2 innings in Friday's game). If they advance to the WS, both Gausman and Yesavage will be well rested to start Games #1 and #2.

The M's defense was bad last night with those three costly errors. Hopefully, they play better tonight plus score some runs. As a Dodger fan, I would like to see the M's win the series tonight as it would give the Dodgers home field advantage, playing in the same time zone and less travel time between ballparks with no pesty customs to go through.
