MLB 2026

I'm in for a rare treat the next three evenings. My two favorite teams are playing... The A's visiting Wrigley Field. This lets the Athletics play in a Major League Stadium and the Cubs for a different opponent against whom they rarely play (every other year in Wrigley in the current scheduling paradigm). Looking forward to it, both teams are searching to find a groove.

Can you make the Rangers lose?
Brilliant Rangers!

I don't have to say Stupid Mariners any more. The got their butts mashed last night. Thank goodness. The pile of superstitions was getting to be a bit much during the streak. Now when they start another one, we can start making up different superstitions. I love baseball!

How about "Stupid Baseball"? Covers all the bases, so to speak.

Also the Cards can't lose today!!! I'll take it.

I like it.

The Mariners are at Detroit. Woo vs. Valdez. On paper, the Mariners should romp. Naylor is back in the lineup and has been pretty good after an ice cold start to the season. The only major cog in the machine still missing is Raleigh, who was also off to a terrible start. I kinda wonder if the injury that's had him on IR is why he couldn't hit at the start of the season. It took a lot of games before it got bad enough for him to actually acknowledge that he was too hurt to do much good.

This just in:
Max Muncy just signed with the LA Rams as a Defensive Linebacker!
(OUCH!)
;)

The Cubs radio announcers discussed that play at great length this afternoon. Thanks for posting.

Something very wrong there, though. If both guys veer to their right, nobody gets hurt and they can still go full speed.

I was at a college game a couple weeks ago ( Notre Dame vs Stanford) and the ACC has instituted a "safety bass" at first, to avoid precisely this problem. Perhaps other conferences have also done this.

There are solutions.
