we did a wedding last month and one of the grooms man is one half of our drummer/perc. combo. they both play drums and they switch mid song and such. the family lost their collective minds.Hi jnuts1

I used to play for one here. It was a nice little bar he had bought for his wife. Sometimes late at night he would bring his "associates" in before we stopped playing, lock the doors, and have us play just for them for several hours... You could actually catch a glimps of pistols under their jackets, just like something you'd see in a movie. We would be tired and ready to leave , but were we going to refuse? LOL!
Actually nice folks, I'm sure as long as you were on their good side. A fun gig... decent hours, except for a few occasions, for which they tipped us well.
I guy I used to play with played a similarly sponsored event and when asked a couple of times to "play softer" was finally asked if he "could play drums under water?"!
Then don't post here. My understanding is that they don't like words beginning with "M". Just sayin'.

Most of the times those type of events are fine, and sometimes even better than normal events. I remember playing a Hell's Angels party once and everyone was super nice, respectful, and grateful for our services. I'd do it again in a heartbeat
If I only knew how many mobsters I’ve played for....I’m sure it was a lot.
One bit of advice, don’t hit on the bride!
