G.A.S' ing hard over a tbx right now. Anyone have a 6 string tbx they are interested in selling? :)
That tbx a few posts up is mine.... Cant wait for it to arrive!!!
Wanna put black hardware on it.

Looks like a schaller bridge and im thinking gotoh ultralights for the pegs?

The body is worked HARD apparently though all just finish issues. Maybe a refin down the line.

So psyched!!

I bet! It's a beautiful bass for sure. Hoping to find/buy a used tbx 6 soon :)

I know that is why i scooped the four up right away
I actually believe the last stats i saw were approx. 100 was the total for both 5 & 6ers
And only around 10 four strings were made
Anyone else have any info that can add to this topic?

The following paragraph came from an Elderly Music Blurb when they were selling a used TBX 4 string:

"This TBX is one of the rarest and most sought after basses ever made my Modulus. Under Geoff Gould's supervision when he was with Modulus, these were handmade by 1 person. They had a small specialized team that worked on these exclusively. Due to the prohibitive cost to do so, these neck through TBXs were never put into full production. While all Modulus basses are a pleasure to play and sound great, there is something very special and unique in these neck through TBXs. When I last spoke with Modulus about them I was told there were around 90 six string TBXs made, 85 five strings, but only 11 four strings. Without any exaggeration, this may very well be the only chance you have to purchase one."

You can decide if you trust it or not.

By the way string spacing on the TBX 6 is EXTREMELY narrow. Guitar players go absolutely nuts with joy when they try it, but you won't be doing much slapping.

The neck width and spacing on my 1993 TBX 6 is the same as a typical Q6 bolt on - 17mm.

Neck is 2" at the nut, 3.25" at the 24th fret.

Not sure of the exact years involved, but from what I've seen it seems that pre-1990 or so you see a lot of 5 and 6 strings that are basically squeezed on to a 4 string neck.

I read somewhere that there is less than 100 total combined 4,5,6 strings. Who really knows though. It would be interesting to find out the real numbers. I am having a hard time finding a black tbx 6. Seems the only one that is documented online a 1996 model year has switched hands a bunch of times. My trail has gone cold ughhhh :(
