Modulus Mob

Anybody that has a turbo: have you tried different pups? The stock barts are a bit dull for me. They sound like they have a blanket thrown over them. I want a nice bright clean tone but fat too. Sort of a hot modern jazz on steroids tone (but obviously a bit different because of the turbo config). I was thinking of nordstrand big split at the bridge and a fat stack at the ss maybe. Any thoughts on achieving the tone I'm describing?

I just dropped an East u-retro pre in it to help with sculpting but the pups still sound muffled when everything's flat.

my Q5 at my luthier getting the battery box installed. Only place to do it is above the control plate..

I was fortunate enough to just recently get a used quantum case from Tony at planetbass. He was very helpful and awful kind to sell me a used case by shuffling around a couple basses. He told me they plan to make them available for purchase sometime this year. So we should all be in luck very soon. Cheers!

Are you getting just one battery box, Iriegnome?

So in case anyone needs/wants it, here's a copy of the Modulus Quantum and Genesis manuals, for what they are worth

Yes, my Q5 is only a 9v system and the output is super hot, so I will be keeping it that way. Single battery in my Quantums. Dual batteries in my Genesis basses

I had Nordstrands in a Q5. The bass was reportedly originally built with full Nordstrand electronics , but a PO had installed an Aguilar OBP3. I found it very bright, even harsh, at the time, and it got sold in favor of Lane Poor, Bart, and even EMG equipped Q's. I might feel differently today as my sonic goals have changed some.
My friend has Nordstrands in his Lakland and reports a similar impression, but I know that a lot of folks love their Nordstrands.
I need an FU case, BTW, so I may bid on the one listed on eBay.
