Modulus Mob

Just got my first Modulus. A Q6 fretless with a MM style Pup tucked up against the bridge. Absolutely love this ax! Growly mwah which absolutely cuts through everything. I just finished building a ramp for her, too. Check her out!!:hyper:

also, my m92 has arrived at my step brothers house but i cant get it until at least tomorrow.

im all fired up now
yeah, totally stoked for her arrival. sooooooo addicted to cocobolo!

no worries on the m-92 hardware. take your time with your new bass. just shoot over a head's-up when ya wanna swap 'em out.

@Neuroman, great googly moogly! that top is ridiculous! is it like flamed redwood or flamed walnut?

Whoa! Never seen that particular pickup configuration; any idea if that was stock, or is it a custom/one-off?
I don't know but I would not be surprised if it was a custom request. The guy I bought it from was a complete ModulusHead whom said he has owned over 100 of them over his life time. He sure struck it right on this baby. I believe he replaced it with an unlined version. I have never played or heard a fretless quite like it. When playing alone in my studio it sounds very tangy with major ring. Then when in a mix it comes across clear, growly, very present yet warm somehow. Amazing what happens to sound when it settles in with 4-5 other instruments in a live mix.

Why are these not standard

I don't think they were even invented until the earl '00's...Good trivia question though: What was the first bass to feature a quick-access battery compartment?

After asking myself too many times "how old is the battery in this thing?" I got in the habit of putting a piece of masking tape on the control cavity cover and writing the date on it when I put in a fresh battery. If a gig comes up and it's over 6 months old, a new one goes in. Otherwise, they usually last about a year for me.

You and me could have been separated at birth.

Hey guys,
Was hoping someone might have a lead. I am searching for a wide spaced Q5. Hoping to find one that is in the 9.5lb range or less. If anyone has a lead on one let me know. Thank you so much for your time.

(Assuming you are still looking) Did you see the chechen topped one at New Jersey Guitar and Bass Center? They say it's a wide. Scroll about halfway down the page...
