Thanks guys. I just joined the family yesterday! I've been playing a P with flats so that is just what I'm am used to. I was thinking this morning keeping a modern bass for a modern sound.

I got the Copperish Red Q5 on eBay that was was referenced a few pages ago. What an amazing playing instrument. Terrific action. Things just pop out!

@pnutz Nice!

My first thought was that the 35inch scale would take some getting used to. I find that it actually lays better under my hands. I guess 1 inch spread over the length of the fingerboard doesn't make a huge difference for each fret, but it seems to fall in the right places for my fingers.

This is my first active bass. The first night I just set everything flat to get used to the bass. Last night I got it a little more dialed in. A really nice variety of sounds can be got from the EMGs.
