The Funk Unlimited has a slim D-shaped neck. I read somewhere that Flea wanted to have a neck that reminded of an vintage jazz bass from the 60's...
That's actually a different one- it's a Genesis case. I bought the Quantum case for $155 shipped. A little more than I wanted to pay, but I can stop looking for it and the seller has excellent feedback (they shipped it the same day too).
GC has a used Q5 for $1300. It's a non-truss rod one. I haven't seen it in person, just on the website.

I should get it next week. I am pretty stoked. When I bought the guitar, I never really read the listing and just purchased it. Didn't realize I bought the guitar.. Yup. Dumb move. So I was super excited these last several days when the bass came up.
Nice! You definitely need to bust these both out at the same time with one of your guitar players
Oh boy- got my OHSC. It's in really good shape (a few marks on the outside, but nothing major- no cracks or dents) and the interior is super plush and clean- I wonder if it was used other than to ship the bass originally?
That being said, I was debating getting the bass refinished, but the color is starting to grow on me. I still may trade it for a non-burst stain or a fancy exotic topped Quantum, but I think I'll leave it as is. For now

That is a sweeeeet bass man, i've probably already said that. granted i understand your liking for other colors, yellows are not my favorite hues for a quilt top. but man, i'd never try to change that piece. Glad you finally got a case! A
Also i still have a 90's quantum case that is beat up a bit but still functional. if anyone else needs a quantum case to keep there bass protected i'm willing to part with it for like 35 bucks shipped (pretty much just the cost of shipping plus a few bucks for my next pack of smokes or whatever and im happy to call it a deal
). theres some pieces broken off of the corners of the plastic outside that shows the styrofoam inside but the latches all still work and it holds the bass snug so it's well protected. anybody interested let me know.
