That must really suck having all that sustain and no deadspots. I can see where that would really be a interesting transition :laugh::thumbsup:.. I have a couple of Mod's with a couple of different spacings. They are pretty unique, but all have become comfortable to play.. She is a beauty for sure

I'm sorry you didn't like the video, however, I can personally attest to the quality of that bass and the other Modulus basses coming into the shop. The audio was recorded direct, and completely dry, which I think can be a little deceiving- the only eq was coming from the onboard preamp. Your opinions are obviously valid.. "terrible player" though? That is not a humble opinion, as you don't know me or my playing. And I don't think this should be a community to rip other players on the basis of one demo video, or the basis of anything else for that matter.
On a positive note, stay tuned for more videos of more basses! They are all recorded the same way as the first video, and are scripted very similarly.
A quick note, I do not have any affiliation with Modulus Graphite except for being good friends with the guys over at Planet bass and a huge fan of the instruments.
Thanks and keep digging on Modulus basses!

I think your playing is pretty good myself. In the second video, you're more personable, as well. The production values of those videos are pretty good too (that's what I went to school for, and even now I still nitpick these things even though I don't work in that field). Are you reading off a prompter? You don't stumble or uh, so whatever you're doing, good job.

Looks like the Modulus social media blitz is beginning!

First let me say that I am glad to know you are here on TB and a long standing member. I am proud of my Modulus'. Every last one of them. I am exuberant over the restart of them and that I am positive they are still amazing basses. I also can be overly hypercritical of things like this. Do not misunderstand my dislike of the first video for a dislike of the bass and I should apologize for being so harsh. As with our friend Fred, I have many years of schooling and professional experience to go on. I want the best for Modulus. Kudo's for keeping it going

I think I am starting to see an overall increase in the used prices of moddys, other than a couple here and there that are still reasonable. Looks like my prediction was right. They'll go up until they balance out, relatively, with the prices of the new ones. If I can just get myself a q5 before then...

You're definitely right about that! The M92 referenced in the post above would have gone for about $900-$1000 2-3 years ago. The lowest price for a Quantum I've seen recently is 1.5K for the red Q5 that's been sitting on eBay for a couple of months now: Modulus Quantum Q5 5 String Bass Red Quilt Flametop Graphite Composite Neck 889406053496 | eBay

the market can be a bit helter skelter tho. the m-92 5's seem to be in the $1.25 range lately but when i tried to sell mine a few months back, nobody touched it until i dropped the sell price to $900. go figure.

if you look at the 'sold' section on eBay for modulus q5's, they're all in the $1.5-$2k range. then you get instances such as the early q5 that's been on eBay for awhile. and you also get the 'alphonso johnson' q5 on the l.a. craigslist for awhile also. not to mention the red q5 on the g.c. site.

guess it boils down to how much you're willing to spend on a particular bass.
