for those who tried both aguilar and bart pre in their quantum, what difference in term of sound did you find ? i'm looking for a full and almost agressive sound...
i already own a Roscoe SKB with a full bart setup, and think that a Q6 with an OBP3 should be nice match...

If you want aggressive and more "changability" in the preamp, go with the Aguilar. It brings the thunder!
My Q5 has the EMG BQC pre in it,....VERY agressive, cut through the mix type of sound, the mid sweep is the key on this pre,....have played and owned several Mods with different pups and pre's, and this pre has been my fav by far!!!

I'm an MTD convert.
If someone wants to take over club memberships, etc. for this club, lemme know and I'll get you an up to date list.
I probably will get another Flea 5 in the future, and maybe a fretless Q5, but I've unloaded my Mod gear to pay off some stuff and I haven't picked up anything but my 535 in months.
I'll retain my role as "Consultant", but yeah.
If anyone is up to it, just PM me.

im bad for saying this but this week i started to gas for a second fb4/ funk unlimited! bass in orange flake finish, with a black picguard and the same setup i have on my 08 fb4 at the mo.
ie aggie 0b-1 pre, seymour duncun basslines pickup, bassass 2 bridge.
and at the mo im trying to get pics to see how it would look from ian at smart where i got my last one from.

right so its gonna cost £1680 new with the matching headstock.
thing is i just last month put a payment down on a autumn glow 1977 4001 rick!
so im gonna get that if i get on with it i can forget the fb4 if im not a huge fan or find it a bit awkward ( i have heard the body shapes a big love/hate)
ill be getting me another fb4.

still playing my Quantum 6 that my tech Chuck at Sound Source and Mike Tobias helped me customize. Mike had the pre built by Bartolini and Chuck put it in. Didn't they do a great job? I'll always love this thing. RockStarBassist, you can have both! I have a Q5, a Q6 and an MTD 635. They're BOTH great basses! You do a good job at managing this club. You don't have to quit.

So, how does it work for you indoors?
Fungus Fest. 750 in attendance. 1998 Genesis 5.. I love this bass outdoors
i think the only wood finger board they do is chechin? i know that not spelt right!
other than that the finger board is the composite.
the genisis bass has dif woods for the finger board i think?

Got an early 90's Modulus, Kahler bridge, no truss. The two band preamp has CTS on the board and has two sets of dip switches. is this just an older EMG BTS that I can set high Freq. on?
