Modulus Mob

Thats cheap. Last tbx sold for almost 7k

Thats too cheap in fact. Someone should Scoop it up before i email the seller telling him its priced too low
no prob. as soon as i hit all the numbers for tonight's $900 mil powerball, will buy it. oh, what the heck... tbx's for everyone!!! :D

Sorry to jack the thread.... You serious? So if I ordered a series 2 it would cost 18K minimum? Tell me you aren't serious. There is one place I know that's selling a 2014, barely used, no scratch for roughly 10K. Is this a good deal?
If you have the money yeah . A series II is even more , and it takes about a year to get it . Go to Link Removed .com and then the Alembic club and look for some used ones . I have a buddy who has a music store in Monterey, Ca who has some new ones for sale .

Played a Q5 through an Ampeg SVT-CL and some good 4x10s. Pretty much the best thing I've ever heard.

It's possible that there are other things out there that could be even better, but tubes & graphite are the purest combination of perfection imo, and my favorite tubes are SVT's. You may want to try the ampeg 6x10hlf with the SVT. Capable of incredible deep lows but also huge mids and clear, defined highs.

Moddy B-strings ring clearly through this setup.
Q6 players... What amps/cabs do you play?

I own a rack system w/an Alembic F1-X preamp, Alembic SF-2 SuperFilter, & a Crown power amp. That typically drives an Eden D-210T (with the tweeter disabled) and an Eden D-115.

I also often substitute an Acoustic Image Focus 1 Series II head, especially if I'm the one who has to carry the gear! And if I need extreme portability I substitute a Flite Sound stack (1x15" + 1x12") for the Eden cabs.

Doesn't matter, the Modulus sounds killer through any/every combination I've managed to cobble together.

I have almost the exact same rig except I have 2 Mesa 4X10's

I use the same rig for my 4, 5's and 6's. DNA 1350 on top of a DNA DNS-410. Takes everything I give it. Even my 10 string.
not to derail the thread or particular conversation, but how's the dna 1350 tone wise? i'm curious but after 30 years don't know if i'm ready to go with an amp with no tube in the pre section. from boogie to hartke to swr to eden. right now i have my eden wtb-1000 feeding a dna dns-410.

appreciate any feedback!

Best amp I have ever played. My Modulus basses come out crystal clear and clean. The DNA is super powerful too. I play in a Dead/Phish style band with 2 drummers and 3 guitarists. The 1350 cuts through beautifully. Flat EQ (which I never did before), no parametric to dial out bass drum tones. My barts on my 1994 Q5 seem to just love sitting in that 1350. From my Low C up to the High G on the 24th Fret. No deadspots at all. (BTW - I rarely use low B and Low C usually is a harder note to hear). The floors can rumble with a huge sound. With my SWR, it never really gave enough bass until it was too much. Without the tube, I think (For me, IMHO) my Modulus basses shine for exactly what they should be. Clean, Clear, Modern and thick. Best move I ever made besides playing Modulus. really

I definitely believe iriegnome found an awesome rig for graphite. Possibly the perfect one. But I have a hard time imagining a modulus sounding cleaner, clearer and bigger/more 3D than an all tube SVT. I ride mine pretty damn clean, with the gain at around 10 o'clock. Perfect huge tone. I can honestly hear light shining from the graphite through it (with a powerful at of 4x10s. But to each their own, I always say.

Honestly, I have never played my Moddy on a real SVT Rig. I had a Pro 7, but that doesn't come close. I have a really good friend here in my city with a full SVT Classic and 8x10. It would be interesting to play through. I know for sure it made his Washburn sound amazing!! Oh, Ballin, I am up your way Feb 27th at the Frequency

I definitely recommend you try playing through your friends svt rig. If he'll let you mess around with the knobs a bit, you'll find your ideal setting pretty quick. I'd love to hear what you think of it. But be warned you might fall in love! May not be the best idea if you are trying to avoid GAS.

Awesome man! I should be off that Saturday, I'll definitely come out and see you if I am!
