Modulus Mob

I don't know if this is the right place to ask... Does anyone happen to know the fretboard radius on a mody, particularly a '91 Q5 with no truss rod?
Not sure about the old ones in '91 but they have a compound radius fingerboard, so it's not as simple to put a number on it. They feel pretty flat though so I'd guess it's somewhere around 12"-13" average radius. But I could be wrong about those numbers. Someone else might know more.

Is there a particular reason why you're asking? It might help us better assist you in finding out what you need to know.

I found a reference to this info by a cat named 'iriegnome' in another thread stating its 10"-16" compound.
I have designed a bass build, and i really like the fretboard radius on my Q5.
It's a neck thru (wood), so it won't carry the carbon fiber uniformity, but I've had the neck slabbed (5 piece wenge and Paduak) and the top/fretboard wood (cocobolo) waiting and aging for 12 years!!!

i have a 91 TBX but i have no idea how to measure fretboard radius

Best way is to have a set of StewMac fingerboard radius gauges. These are T-shaped metal thingies where the top of the "T" comes with various radii and you pick the one that fits best. There are places on line where you can download a file with guages you can print on cardboard and then cut out. I was never very impressed with them but the StewMac ones cost about $30 which is rather steep in my estimation but they do work great.

("What amps do you Q6 owners use"): Sorry to digress, but (those of you who know me know), I sometimes can't help it and wanted to chime in. I don't own a Modulus Q6 but do own 2 Q5's and a VJ4 fretless, as well as 2 Roscoe's (5 and 6 string SKB's) and the Genz Benz Streamliner 900/ Bergantino HS410 Cab rules. In my view, the high end, ultra clean output of the Moddy (or Roscoe - both Bartolini pick ups and pre-amp) into the Streamliner Tube / Tube config is perfect. The head can tame some of the ultra high sounding signal from the phenolic finger board and 18 volt pre , I presume this would be especially true with EMG's but I don't own any. The tube head and solid 410 cab is powerful and mellow enough to get it done in either the rock, jazz, reggae and funk genre and if you want the cutting mid-range it is possible, but the more "Ampeg-esque" sound is certainly possible if desired. My 2 cents.......

Now back to regularly scheduled programming......

I have been dying to try out and/or buy a genz Streamliner 900. Good to know it's right for a moddy. Some day.

Btw I didn't know you had a vj4 fretless, mine posting a pic of it?

I'm the only one I know, besides you, who has one. Love it.

I could have sworn the manual had the measurements, but I don't see them. But I'm at work, so it's not like I am encouraged to use my brain...
