Might be hard to let go, honestly. But I'm just trying to swap the pickups (if you didn't notice them) with the stock Barts in my Q4. I don't really have the money to keep the bass though, if I'm being honest.
What exactly are those pickups in there?? Modulus logo Pickups?? Do they have screws through them?

when you do receive it, could you post your findings on the difference between barts and the lane poor's?
i'm addicted to the bart d.c./aggie obp-3 setup but am curious what lane poor's bring to the table.

That's the idea. Swapping them out with the stock Bartolinis in my current Q4. Then reselling it with the Bartolinis. Still excellent pickups.
When did they start putting truss rods in Quantums? Mine's a '98 (I'm assuming based on the first two digits of the serial number) and it has one, so I guess it's one of the earlier ones.
Mid 97 i believe. I only say that because there seems to be 97s with and without
there's a '97 sixer (nice spalt top btw) on reverb w/o a truss rod (adjustment rod) so, yeah, looks like '97 was the crossover year.
So the Quantum 4 arrived. Incredible bass! This thing is sexy, you guys. Lightly flamed bubinga top, Lane Poors, 3-band preamp (haven't checked the brand yet), nice and light, super straight neck. It came strung up with flats so I put some lo-riders on it. Getting some fret "zing" from it right now. I figure it might take some time for the neck to get used to different tension. Otherwise I'll just raise the action and see how that fairs.
It's as fast playing as a Quantum 4 should be. Lightning.
