Modulus Mob

Found a new Modulus Vertex for under 1k so I took a gamble and ordered it. I've owned nothing but Funks so the body shape should be an interesting change, but uses the same neck so shouldn't be totally alien. Seems like a good price for a backup :)

Since so one seems to have much experience I'll post a review after I have a week or so with it - more to come!

PS: Check out their facebook page- they just did a funk for Flea in flat black...poor pickups...sick!

On another topic, when I first got the VJ it had a passive Bart system installed. I wasn't to crazy about the tone, so I purchased a J-Retro pre for it that will give me more control both active and passive.

Any recommendations on pups? Or should I just leave the Barts? Should mention I am partial to Delanos, which I have on my FU4, Fender Deluxe Jazz and MIA Precision. But was thinking I might want something else for a fretless.

In other news: I chatted with Anderson yesterday and the blacked out stealthy unlined fretless VJ should be here tomorrow. UPS Man Dance :hyper:

I think it was WD? Might go a different route to get one made for the incoming VJ though, nothing against WD, simply a matter of turn around time.

Tried black strings - didn't like the tone and I think it needs a little sparkle ;)

its not up anymore. it was from vsnguitars on ebay. looks like they only had one :( kind of an odd ebay store as it looks like they have one type bass and sell it for cheap. i found what i assume is their website Vsn Guitars | Your on line guitar shop but they dont even carry modulus or some of the other brands of guitars/basses they sell on ebay. little confusing but canadians usually are.

i'll post pics once i change the hardware to black :)

Hey mob. Quick question, whats the string spacing at the bridge on a funk unlimited 4? I know, I know, but the modulus web page is down and I don't have the will power to sift through modulus threads in search of a minute detail. Help a hard working bass player out.

Vertex in. The body is actually super comfy. The craftsmanship is amazing (like all modulus). Exact same neck as my funks. Sound check tomorrow and swapping out all the hardware for black. Review and pics to come!
