Morbid bass thought?

Did you know that the same people who would create shrunken heads sometimes created entire shrunken bodies?
When I go, I'd like to have my body shrunk, then coated with polyurethane. After that, someone can attach a bridge, tuning machines, frets, pickups, electronics, strap buttons and strings, and I'll be good to go!

It could be the next Red Violin!

The intricate history of a beautiful antique violin is traced from its creation in Cremona, Italy, in 1681, where a legendary violin maker (Carlo Cecchi) paints it with his dead wife's blood to keep her memory alive, to an auction house in modern-day Montreal, where it draws the eye of an expert appraiser (Samuel L. Jackson). Over the years between, the violin travels through four different countries, where it has a profound impact on all those who own it.

Loooonnngg time ago I was so enthralled by playing bass (still am) that I had the eccentric idea that when my time ends, I'd like to be cremated and my ashes stirred into a gloss lacquer and my main player gets a new paint job with that lacquer to hand down to my child if I were to have one. Well, had 3 kids and the idea revolted the wife and all the kids so had to backtrack and say I was just kidding about that story...but I was not....at the time I thought it.

Kind of like the guy who gets buried in his favorite sports car.
Would not do it now though.....maybe.
I love it, man.

For me it's a tossup between a Viking Funeral and having a diamond set made for each grandchild from my ashes: Invalid Link Removed

I think I'd end up a nice dark gray burst. And I'd be part of a bass making music. Oh, yeah, cool.

I have a good friend who runs a funeral parlour, and specializes on giving the customers whatever they want. I’m not sure about the idea of being integrated into a bass paint job, though. But I’m sure that given the task, she would come through in spades.

My plan used to be: Buy a bottle of Jack Daniels, rent a snowmobile and ride off on Lake Superior and either pass out and die, or run out of gas and die. Insurance covers the sled, and the body floats slightly above the lake floor as the water is to cold for the body to bloat from gasses.
