For me, i have found these two to be the most pleasing to play of the basses i have played over the years.Alembic Elan or Europa
My favorite comfy bass was probably my Jerry Jones Longhorn built around 1992. Bummer that i sold it! For the bass that I currently own my 4003s is my favorite. Its a tossup really between the Longhorn and the Rick.
This is like asking which are the most wearable gloves. The ones that fit your hands.

I wonder if that's a good bass for metal?
I just bought a used korean made Warwick Star Bass II 4-string. Different from the chinese made RB Starbass, it has a 34" scale.(...)But, I'd have to say my Warwick RB Starbass is the most comfortable. Neck is pretty thin, and being a 32" scale means fingers don't have to stretch as far. I just wish is was a little lighter.
In the world of basses, and just instruments in general, playability of an instrument is a major key to the musician. What is the best playing bass you have ever played/own(ed)?
