Interesting that the thread title is "most talented", which I take as different than the best overall band.

The most talented I have run across, that I know is currently touring, is PAK. The band is fronted by a bassist who is quite adept at melding punk feverishness with the technical prowess of odd-time-signature jazz.

Hard to say, what is talent? (really?) - playing really intricate, difficult stuff with anyone, improvising, rocking ( lotsa numetal references here it seems), jamming, swinging ...?

Gotta go with the Flecktones for sheer musical knowledge and great playing, and while I dig these guys live, I'd rather listen to Elton John or Dido or George Strait in the car or at home. Or Chicago or Rush or Los Lonely Boys.

I love metal as much as the next guy but I think I would rather listen to Taylor Swift than that stuff...
