Most UNDERRATED bands?

I am a huge fan of J Geils, and even a bigger fan of 10cc. I thought of you when I did this cover:
I've been getting back to my roots lately. Might you/anyone know what bass Danny Klien used on Bloodshot? I love the way the whole album was mixed and especially the "sonic character" of the bass he used in the studio. My ears may be rusty, I'm thinking 64ish Fender Jazz? With flats maybe?

All I know about Klein's basses is he often played a P-body with a J-neck. I have no idea about strings and pickups. Didn't he play a Flying V though? Some sort of custom sparkle job? I know in the 80s he played a Steinberger.

Agreed on Simple Minds. I loved Sons And Fascination, New Gold Dream, half of Sparkle In The Rain and, to a lesser extent, Once Upon A Time. In a just world SM would have been much bigger than U2 :D

Other mentions:

- Talk Talk
- Level 42 (I never understood why they weren't bigger in North America)
- Sandals (a unique sound)
- Jazz Jamaica
- Kassav' (some of the best shows I've ever seen)
