There is a MAJOR component to this whole thing that, and sit down for this, Mike has RESPECTFULLY left off these boards because it would be VERY damaging to someone.
JuniorK, Thor and others donated. They are directly involved in it. BMW, spammed the boards with pleas for donations so it indirectly involved many TBers.Your right, and I feel it's in bad taste for those not even remotely involved to come in here and attack him.
Oh, wait.......that's right this is the internet.......
As far as I can tell, and please correct me if I'm wrong here, but I don't think ANYONE defended his behavior/actions in this.
Yes, BMW is a friend of mine.
Yes, I think he had great intentions.
Yes, I think/feel that it is WAYYYYY out of his personality/person to try to willfully steal from any one.
I'm not sure if you think that is defending him.
I didn't in this case.
How he went about it is flat out wrong IMO.
Since we're talking about bad taste, has anyone shot a PM to him prior to starting this thread?????
Or did they just fire up the ol' PC and type away expecting everything to be all civil and stuff????
Hell, ask an opinion about SX vs. Sadowsky and it will get just about as heated in a thread like that as it is here!
Drop in an emotional, let alone some financial variables, and yeah, it's gonna be ugly.
You want to know the truth???
There is a MAJOR component to this whole thing that, and sit down for this, Mike has RESPECTFULLY left off these boards because it would be VERY damaging to someone.
So, in that regard, yeah he 'effed up royal in this.
But I still didn't see it coming and still think there is more to this than we know.
In bad taste..........
Where is the respect for all the TB members that donated?
Not to be a jerk to you Mike but you have chosen where you stand on the issue. You have knowledge, apparently, of things that the TB community should be made aware of regarding the donated funds yet you choose not to share it. That says a lot IMO.
I guess the good thing is that there are people like
Embellisher and Bassic83 that light the way when it comes
to charitable works around here.
My .02.
BigMike has said what he had to say, he continues to downright refuse to disclose any information about any of the money and where it has gone. That's his choice, not mine. I think that his defensive attitude and unwillingness to help speaks volumes.
Instead of owning up to his mistake and being helpful, he has denied any wrong doing and still continues to give excuses instead of cutting the B.S. and giving us some facts.
He has mislead many TB'ers, lied to them, and continues to duck and dodge and real answers. That IMO is a dishonest person any way you dish it out, an honest person would own up to their mistake and apologize. But BigMike is above apologizing to people he has lied to or used thier name (jeff) on this board. We are talking about people's hard earned money that he is playing "games" with yet he still does not feel the need to respond with anything other than excuses and lies.
You may not call it theft but when someone takes my money and says it will be used for "xxxx charity" and when I ask for proof it was used for "xxxx charity" they basically tell me to screw off, then the charity never happens and the money I donated is missing.........that my friend in stealing, whether or not he kept the money, it was his duty to see that it went towards what it was supposed to....starting this charity and getting the ball rolling.....he dropped the ball and lost my money......
p.s. I wonder if the companies he endorses know that he is dragging their name through the mud also by his association with them.
plus a billion to that!!!!! i would like to see more frequent updates to the GRACE AND HER BASS THREAD THOUGH.
jive, exactly......i'm no so much saying that it's lame on his friends part but it's lame of BigMike to have his friends defending his integrity when he acts like he could care less.
It seems to me the only people BigMikeW has any motive for this "respectful" protecting would either be the original intended recipient of the funds jeffbass or the person who was to administer the funds tombowlus, or am I missing something here?
I think from the way that we've all seen Tombowlus act in this thread, his actions are not those of someone with a guilty conscience. That only leaves jeffbass, why would BigMikeW have cause to protect him?
If BigMikeW has something to insinuate about someone, he should be man enough to do it in person. Getting one of his mates to do it as a proxy is so weak.

One of the reasons for this thread is to get a tally of amounts donated to compare to what has been stated to be received so to give BMW the benefit of the doubt. If the numbers match up, then we're all cool regardless of BMWs cooperation. But, they aren't lining up and there is no explanation, and that's why people are pissed off. People donated hundreds of dollars that could have been used for their families or a tank of gas, and the least they could get out of it is knowing that some good came out of their sacrifice.
Well people can only go based on what they know, and this mystery factor is unknown to them. So until this is known, people can only make judgements based on the evidence presented. And even if the mystery factor is presented, it still may not explain it. I can't say, because I don't know what it is. And like you said, this is the internet, and it would take a HUGE leap of faith to give carte blanche trust to a guy who makes claims that don't add up, won't be accountable, and relies on a mystery factor to absolve him. It's nothing against BMW, but that's just a prudent way to act regardless of a member's postcount, join date, or avatar.
I donated to your bass, and I know where the money went, and that it made a positive effect in your life. I'm very cool with that. I donated to another cause of BMWs, and I knew where the money went and checked with the guy and know that was received and very much appreciated. I'm cool with that. But this incident, where I don't know where the money went, and there is no accountability, I'm not cool with.
I understand now and apologize for my earlier post.
I just want to publicly apologize for my previous posts, especially to those they offended. My frustration is not at the individuals that it may seem they were aimed at, but more so at the situation, and my frustration at not being able to do anything to help bring closure, as I wanted to.
This post was not prompted by anyone, other than my wife, who said I acted like an ass, and she's generally right about things like that...
So again, my apologies to anyone I offended, and I hope that this can be resolved as quickly as possible for all parties involved.
The fact of the matter is, the excuse of I "don't have time" due to supporting your family doesn't hold a lot of water. Take 10 minutes of your sleep time, and set the record straight. That's all it should take to show some accountability.
I've read through this thread and it makes me sick to see TB members bickering over something like this.
Who's bickering.
These TB members have legitimate concerns and complaints.
It is only logical to wonder what happened to their hard earned money and to not get any answers is criminal in itself.
That's what I'm referring to (BMW vs. the donors of TB).
