No you cannot. In essence, that graphite neck makes it a Cutlass II bass. Start a Cutlass II club instead. Now go away quickly.
Just kidding! What a great bass, must look killer with that all-black neck. How does it sound? Did you buy it this way?
Yes, just purchased the bass here on TB. I wanted a MM bass with a Status neck, as I will be relocating to the Philippines in a few years, thus will be needing a very stable neck for that climate.

Not a Sabre owner...yet. My old bass teacher from high school used to play vintage Sabres exclusively and I always loved the tone, so recently I've been thinking about adding one to the arsenal.
This 1980 in Cherry Red on Reverb looks interesting: Music Man Sabre Bass 1980s Cherry Red | Reverb
It seems to be in good shape. Other than not including a case, anything that looks off/I should be aware of?

that's a 90's Bass 02 on the serial number and Ernie Ball on the headstock.... looks nice though!
Ditto. That's a good looking, v2.0 EBMM Sabre. I used to have one that looked like that, but with a rosewood board and clear pick guard. Great basses, I would go for it and get your Sabre Club Number pronto! 
Good catch. Thanks, guys! I haven't played a Sabre in a while (maybe since high school?), so I'm going to make a quick trip to GC on the way home tonight to make sure that I still dig them as much as I remember.
Edit: just called the shop and they confirmed that it's a 1989.

They still have NOS Sabre v3.0's at GC where you live?
Is v3.0 the current line of Classic Sabres that were re-issued back in 2013 or so? I've seen a few at the GC in San Francisco in the last 6 months.

Not an owner, but I saw a mini concert with Buddy Guy on TV last night, and his bass player played a silver one. Killer tone, it really got my attention.
Will Do,getting re-acquainted with her,and appreciate the opportunity,you allowed for me,to do that.
