im proud to add my number to mig sig when i get one.....

It's just a matter of preferance. I found myself just using the bridge bucker of my HH Sterling. My main axe now is a single H ray for the tone i dig.:smug:

What about the Piezo pickups? Do they make a big difference?
Just planning to get a new MM probably the same as the stingray 5 string above.

I currently use a single H ray as well and love the sound. So that is probably the way to go!

Now just need to work out how to get £1400 together! :spit:

Never tried a piezo on a EBMM bass before, go down to your local GC and give one a workout to see if ya like it.I dig the growl and funky brightness of my SR just the way it is, it's not as bright sounding as my Streling,(cermaic pickups) but is warmer and beefier sounding to me with the Alinco's.

I'll recommend it. A few years back, I bought two new SR5's; both were the '05 LE Buttercreams, one single H the other an HH. And yes, I have a small fleet of single H SR4's.
The Single H I felt was missing some lowend woof to it, and the HH delivered it in spades.

well, my username is 78Stingray for a reason. Got her slightly used in 1985, still have the original MM strap and carrying case. 24 years and nothing but love.
I'll take a number if you got one.

another shot of my Stingray 5. I wish you could buy these pickguards from Ernie Ball. I love em!! I think they would look cool on many different color stingrays.

Unfortunately and fortunately I live in Jersey in the Channel Islands and the local GC doesn't stock mucicman stingray 5 at all so can not try it out. Probably wait till i am in london next and go to Denmark Street! One day it will be mine...oh yes.............it will be mine
