I posted this on another thread but havent gotten any traffic so i thought id ask you guys here!!
Can anyone explain to me the S.L.O. Special?? I know that its a Sterling neck on a Stingray body, but I didn't previously realize that the Sterling has an extra fret... Is the Sterling neck adjusted for the Stingray body on the S.L.O. Special or is the Stingray body modified??? I ask, because I read in the MTD forum that a simple neck swap from a 21 to a 24 fret neck doesn't work (in the MTD realm) is it the same here as well??? Or the other entirely plausible explanation, What am I missing? Not trying to derail, it seems kinda relevant...

It's a Stingray neck (21 frets, 6 bolts) with a Sterling profile (A Sterling has 22 frets and 5 bolts).

Not yet i will wenesday when UPS drops it off , they drop them literally
btw if anyone has an extra guard i would love to buy one since these subs have such an ugly metal guard

Technically we're only up to #82, but if #90 is what you want, it's yours! That translucent burgundy is really pretty and the pickguard sets it off nicely!

Ya, it's the one from Low End. I'm about 15 miles from them, and have been in the market for an SR5 or Sterling5. I saw it and had to go down and look at it. It was even more gorgeous in the shop than in the photo's.
Gigged it for the first time Saturday night and it performed flawlessly. At first I was concerned about the Ceramic pickups in it rather than Alnico's, but it did fine and sounded stellar. Kicked serious butt paired up with an RH450 head and RS210/RS112 cab combination.
I think there's still room in my stable for a Sterling 5, Bongo5, and eventually a Big Al 5. I've even foolishly pondered trading the custom bass in my avatar. :-0

Thanks man! And thanks again to everyone else's positive comments... It's EXACTLY the Stingray I've wanted for almost 3 years now, I didn't have to change a thing!!!
Here's a couple better pics. The vintage pearl pickguard looks so sweet with the gold hardware. The strap isn't my normal style, but it just kind of "spoke to me." lol Even the case that came with it is snappy... there's no mistaking what it is!
