so I just secured the trade deal on what is now my third Stingray in my stable. It's a trans teal SR4 with a 2 band EQ. It's pretty flipping sweet and has some serious mojo going on.
According to the guy I dealt with here in town on it, he got it straight from Ernie Ball. He used to be an endorser or still is...not sure, still a little fuzzy on if he still is or not...Anyways, back around 10 years ago, he was road dogging with some bigger country acts here in town. He moved away due to some family issues and is now back in town. Anyways, all that to say...he received the bass from directly from EB. On the back of the neck, near the headstock, there is some wear that seams a little odd..doesn't bother me...but it's there nonetheless. EB told him that they had just got this particular bass back from Europe where it had been used by Mr. Tony Levin for 3 days over there. So, if all that is true, it's pretty cool. If not, it's still a flipping sweet bass. I really like the 2 band EQ over the 3 band. The 3 band is great, but the 2 band just seems to have an open-ness to it that I really like.
