Just curious...does anybody here play an SR5 in a hard rock with a metal edge or metal type situation? If so how do you set the EQ on your SR5? And what strings do you use?
I do, some samples at Link Removed. The last ones were recorded before I joined and were not recorded with SR5.
I always have the EQ on the bass flat. I never needed to make any adjustments there. I use Tech21 Bassdriver to shape my sound and I have not find anything better yet.
Edit: although the recording was done with DR lo-riders, I have now moved on the DR Hi-Beams and I absolutely love these strings. Nothing else comes close either sound-wise or in duration of that sound.

RE-POST:
Im trying to get a number...
Thank you for the link. Were you using a pick or playing with just fingers?Yes, this is the case. However, it is not the same on the Bongos.
I'm having an issue with my Stingray. Maybe someone here will have some answers. The bass was working fine, but i had an up coming gig and practice that day so i changed the battery. I decided to change it because it had been in there for a year.
I get to practice and I have output but not the output i had before i changed the battery. I actually thought something was wrong with my rig, cables,or pedals. Disconnected everything a plugged directly into the head and it was still extremely quiet.
I have tried three different new batteries and the problem still remains. What could possibly be causing this. Any help would be great.
I would suggest looking at the metal tips in the battery compartment. I had it happen one time & I just took a small flat head screwdriver and very gently pulled them up to make better contact with the battery. It got me through the night. I went ahead and replaced the flip top battery compartment. Although it seemed to be fine after my homemade repair job.
Why thank you! ill try to get some better pics up. heres a live shot till then, tho kinda blurry...#89 for you! That gunmetal color is niiiiiiiiiccceee!
5sg.
I'd like a number please! Here are some pictures of my playing my StingRay5. Love this thing!![]()
Thanks for the suggestion. I bent the metal tabs up for better contact, but the problem remains. Maybe I need to remove the battery compartment and take a look.
Okay, so I've messaged Otso and haven't heard back. I know it's only been a few days, but lots of people have asked for numbers since his post on page 12 and he added:
I'd be happy to manage numbers if you guys are all cool with it. Feel free to PM or post in the thread, I'm subscribed (of course) and I'm on TB daily!![]()
Here's the list as I gather it so far, PLEASE feel free to correct me! I caught a couple that were missed from quite a while back (robkphoto and mmbassplayer) so I've added them to the list. I figure we can't insert them where they were in the thread, kind of a hassle to get the numbers rearranged.![]()

My Ray sounds WAY better when its facing due North.![]()
