I can't figure out where we are for numbers... there's this thread and then there's also the ones that Caca de Kick posted. There's also something weird on page 12/13 of this thread that keeps asking me for a password (which I don't have/enter).

I'm lost... I think I'm just Stingray Club member #? lol I'd be happy to take over managing numbers if someone can let me know where we're at?

5sg.

The last entry for club numbers is post #239 on page 12 of this thread. The last number is 42 with a special number "77".

Otso is still active on TB. He had requested that if anyone wants a number that they would need to send him a PM. You might want to ask him if he would like to turn the reins over to someone else to manage the numbers.

I don't know what that log in thing is:confused:. I'll report that to a Mod.

Cool, I'll send Otso a message!

Yeah, that popup thing is weird... that's probably why I couldn't see those pages (for me it's on 11-13).

I just got a note back from John. He is thinking that somebody posted a photo that is hosted by a site that wants you to log in to see it. I just hit the "X" twice and it closes that login popup. Then I can veiw those pages.

I just checked. It appears to be Horny Toad at thread# 219. His photos don't load and if you check the properties for his photos it shows that chompco.com that pops up.

If you care to share, what happened to the old electronics?

well....
i was having a string touch/ buzz problem (i think, as long as you touched something metal it wasnt there. let go and HMMMMM)
anyways, i took it to a luthier. he said he'd check the ground, but chances are (from previous eb experience) the board was bad. Well, ground checked out, so he ordered a board. it still buzzed. he called ernie ball and they said try putting in a matching input jack. did that...still buzzed. tried a diff pickup, still buzzed. my luthier was stumped, so he shipped it out to ernie ball in ca, and they were stumped!!!! at one point they thought THE PAINT had something to do with it! Well they had it for about 2 weeks and came to find it was the metal piece the eq board is held on. i dont know how...but they replaced that, all of the electronics were replaced with matching 08 stuff and they shipped it back to me. only charging me for shipping and the eq plate. it took a while, but i was a pretty happy guy to get it fixed on the cheap!!

Always toyed with the idea of maple fingerboard for an SR5, but I ended up going rosewood

You know I almost added to my post I wish that's what I'd have done. I play with a pick a little more often than fingers for harder rock and metal, and sometimes it can be a little brighter than I like. I've still thought about getting a SR5 rosewood to match this, but I got a Bongo 5 a couple years back instead to quell that hunger. :)

Still, it's sounded great on recordings.

Add me... picked up this 2000 SR5 today.

nice! did you bag that from Brian at The Low End? I thought I saw one like that on his site that I almost called him about swapping my current SR5 w/maple board for. I used to be more of a RW guy, but currently it seems everything I'm getting and playing has maple.

I'm officially addicted to Stingrays now. I'm working on a trade deal for my 3rd Stingray. I've got 2, an SR4 & 5. Both have maple boards, as does the 3rd one I'm working on getting. Go figure.

Okay, so I've messaged Otso and haven't heard back. I know it's only been a few days, but lots of people have asked for numbers since his post on page 12 and he added:

If someone else wants to take over handing out the club numbers, PM me (You'll also get to be number one :) ). I don't really read TB that often anymore, so I rarely can respond to the number requests.

I'd be happy to manage numbers if you guys are all cool with it. Feel free to PM or post in the thread, I'm subscribed (of course) and I'm on TB daily! :rollno: :D

Here's the list as I gather it so far, PLEASE feel free to correct me! I caught a couple that were missed from quite a while back (robkphoto and mmbassplayer) so I've added them to the list. I figure we can't insert them where they were in the thread, kind of a hassle to get the numbers rearranged. :hmm:

Note: I've only added the people who actually asked for numbers, I figure some people may not necessarily want one and just dropped by to post pictures of their awesome basses. If I've missed anyone or you DO want a number, make sure to let me know and I'll get you added to the list!!!

P.S. For anyone who has a Stingray bass and Stingray Corvette, I'll put a star (or something) next to your name! lol

Would someone please measure the distance from the 12th fret to the center of each row of pole pieces and post your results? (Feel free measure and post this distance in inches or millimeters.)

Thank You!

Okay, I've got a Stingray 5 HH and with my ultra-precise measuring instrument (a 24" aluminum ruler :ninja: :D) here's what I get. I started with the row of poles closest to the neck. Obviously these are estimates:

1st row - 9.43" (239.7mm)
2nd row - 10.34" (262.7mm)
3rd row - 13.03" (331mm)
4th row - 14" (355.6mm)
