I'll add a few more factory pics of the BP Live SR Classics. I recently bought this from Tommixx and love it. With this shade of red and the matching headstock, it's probably a one-of-a-kind, too. The birdseye maple neck is amazing.

Sorry I put it in a way you felt insulted.
But on the Classics, they were unveiled at Bass Day LA with the protypes all being sold off to those lucky folks who attended or called in early. And then they really pumped up at NAMM unveiling SR5's and Sterlings also made with the same Classic StingRay style features.

I spoted a second hand SR5 from the early 90's, natural finish, maple FB.
I'd like to know if you would have some advice on things to look at and pay attention to when buying a second hand almost 20 years old Stingray.
What pictures to ask...
Since I won't be able to inspect the bass before buying, I don't want to buy a lemon or miss some evident things.

Shivering, I would think it would be the same as buying any used bass? No missing parts, straight neck, how's the finish (scratches, dings, etc)... I've only bought one used bass and it was only a couple years old, so I'm not much help I guess. Sorry.

5sg is correct. No changed parts, no major playing damage, weight...etc.
It's really difficult to make any assessment without photos and some writeup on the bass.

With SR5s you have to be ready for the weight. It may well turn out to be an 11 pound bass (is that like 5 kilos?)

OK, I'll ask for the weight and since I've read that SR neck and fingerboard are oil finished, I'll also ask a close up picture of them to see if the maple is not too dirty/green.
