Does anyone know what an original SR5 case from 1993 would look like? I got one with mine that looks just like a black G&G tolex/vinyl covered chipboard case. The inside has a few pieces that are fitted to the SR5 body to hold it in place.

killer bass, worth every penny. did you pop the hood? I wonder if they are using the same LM4250CN chip preamp and what caps are they using. or they might have black epoxied the whole thing. pics?

That sounds correct. I think that there were several options. The SKB type plastic case and the tolex case. That should be plywood rather than chipboard. I have the SKB type case for my '95 and the tolex case for my '97 SR5.
