Yep that's the Black Cherry Burst. Hands dow my favorite color bass! I've had more compliments on it than any other guitar I own. Heck my guitarist plays a gorgeous Ball Family Reserve JP6 and that bass gets more compliments lol. The HH is the only way to go too!!!

I just got my ray back from the luthier (needed some fretwork). It has never felt quite as nice . This thread has really got me thinking about getting another Stingray... (I'm a poor student so it's not going to happen, but it's always nice to dream of things you can't get)

Question for all you 'ray afficionados:

Anyone ever replace the stock bridge on a 5-string 'ray with something that's got 19mm spacing at the bridge? Doable?

Since the strings are already very close to the edge of the fretboard, I don't think you'd get away with swapping to a wider bridge.

Yeah, any wider, and that G string would wrap right over the side and head for the other side of the neck. You would end up with a 4 string fretted BEAD, and a fretless G.

OK...I feel like I've been living under a rock. I did not know that East made a replacement preamp for the MM. I've kind of been struggling with my SR5. I realize the SR5 has a ceramic pup rather than the Alnico of my SR4, but I love the 2 band pre in the SR4. I've never been one that really likes to mod, but this has me wondering. Do you still get the MM tone or does the East Pre add that East color?
