My wife and I are on six week holiday and are currently in Seville, Spain for a few days. We wound up in a dirty dive bar after walking by and hearing a cover band playing "Don't Believe A Word" by Thin Lizzy (my choice to enter, not hers). Three beers later, the band played Mustang Sally and the place went crazy. Lots of ladies seemed to appear out of nowhere and filled the dance floor. Even my wife recognized the song after 15 seconds.
I've always thought that song was a lame choice to include in a set list, but I now know why so many cover bands play it after seeing the reaction tonight. It's a guaranteed crowd pleaser even if it's a cheap and easy way to do it. Kind of like a stand up comedian telling fart jokes.
