My Apologies To All Here

That's a mighty fine looking bass. Are you happy with it? I recently got an American Standard P Bass V, but before pulling the trigger was considering a candy apple red version of your Squire, so I'd be interested in your views.
FWIW, I can understand your frustration at getting told the shipment was cancelled with no info about when, or if, it was being sent. I'm glad it worked out ok in the end.

You've missed the point entirely, but I'll indulge you with an answer to your question; It was the Fender offer of free overnight shipping that sold me on buying from them in the first place. If Fender couldn't deliver, knowing that this is the busiest time of the year, then don't offer it! It's that simple! I would have ordered this from Sweetwater instead.

And, by the way, Fender could learn a thing or two from Amazon, who get's this sort of thing right. They've been delivering packages to my wife up until midnight this past week to meet their commitments, so to answer your question more precisely - No, I haven't ordered from Fender - ever, but "this time of the year" is no excuse for poor customer service. Nobody at Fender had a clue what to do or what was going on. Just contempt for FedEx.

Secondly, what I knew better was to buy a bass (or anything for that matter) from Fender in general. I've boycotted them for years as I think they're a poorly run company with inferior products but was willing to give them a shot after drinking all the KoolAid this forum provides us about Fender.

Though you are completely in the right and have a reason to be upset, I must say, for someone who thinks they are a poorly run company that makes inferior product, you sure took a gamble buying a bass sight unseen to be shipped at the busiest time of the year!

Well look at you Columbo! Ever cross your mind that I buy and sell for a profit? I don't play them.
Oh ... ah just one more question. Was it for a gift or re-sale? I didn't quite get that and the chief is a real stickler about these things. You know how it is.
Ahh .. do you have a pencil I could use?

Dealing with anything shipping related this close to Christmas is a huge headache. I can also relate to the frustration of hearing that it won't be shipped even though it was, as it could have led to you spending more time and money coming up with another gift as a contingency plan. But hey, at least it all worked out in the end, frustrating as it may have been.
