My Apologies To All Here

unfortunately the criticism is being levied at the wrong party FedEx caused the problem not fender and at this time of year everybody knows about shipping except the 0P

This. Fender, more than likely, held up their end of the deal. You need to realize that ordering on a Sunday (no shipping that day) means it will get shipped Monday. If you expected it Monday, well, I don't know what to say. But they don't own a shipping company. It's the shipping company's fault. And, as has already been said, this is a crazy time of year to guarantee next day delivery.

I will agree that the notion of "next day delivery" is misleading at this time of year, if that's what they actually said. If they said "same day shipping" or something of the sort, that is conceivable, albeit the truth is you won't get it next day. At least 4 days before Christmas.

I can understand the OP's frustrations at not getting the bass on time and not getting accurate info from Fender.
That being said, let me give you an example of what it is like for FedEx and UPS this time of year. I am a courier for FedEx Express. My normal route starts at 11:00 am and I usually do around 40 deliveries and then do pickups until about 7:00 pm. Lately I have been starting at 8:30 because of the increase in volume. Depending on how long it takes to get the trucks loaded and get out on road I usually start my deliveries around 9:15. Today I had 120 deliveries, plus my normal pickups.
The other delivery route in my area had over 200! The volume for our station was 6000 pieces higher than it was this day last year.
When the volume of freight being shipped is this high are bound to be issues. We have been fortunate that the weather has been good this year. Imagine how it would be if there was a lot snow or ice to slow things down even more!

The buck stops with fender. They should make good somehow. They have recourse with Fedex.

not true. Fender got to it to FedEx. They supplied the tracking number. They have NO CONTROL at that point. The "cancel" is on Fed Ex. The day late is on Fed Ex. Fender has no control or responsibility after FedEx takes possession of the package.

The OP should have been in contact with Fed Ex - who had the package.

It's a different discussion is there was no tracking number and Fender did not ship.

what the hell is Fender shipping going to do? They sent it out. FedEx picked it up.

Fedex promised fender something. Fender passed on that promise to their customers.

FedEx did not deliver.

The buyer bought from fender not from FedEx.

Once you buy from fender and FedEx screws up that is in fender.

Now when I have been in this situation I have called FedEx. But the fact is that my recourse is though whoever sold me the item FedEx was supposed to ship on time.

And that is the way it should be.

1st World Problems... :)

The Amazon comparison is not necessarily fair. Considering how many warehouses and fulfillment centers they have in the country.

Apologies accepted. Enjoy the bass... I think.

I'll teach Fender a thing or two.
