I didn't want it to be like this. I just wanted my bass to quit being a radio.![]()
I make my own cables from Canary wire and have no issues..

You'd have been fine if you just didnt mention the specific content your rig was picking up.
You COULD've just said you heard "The Night the Lights Went Out In Georgia" and a whole lotta *stuff* could've been avoided!!!
It could be worse. It could pick up a continuous loop of "You Lght Up My Lfe", and you would be compelled to commit suicide.
I'm still fine. That was just what was on when this happened. Not my fault this has become a political thread. I could care less about everyone's political opinions. I'm not a political person and I sure don't like shoving my worthless opinions down people's throats. That's just not nice.I just want it to stop coming through my amp. It hasn't happened since so maybe I'll be cool for a little while. In the meantime I'll hit up Butch at Bayou Cables and get a couple.
+1 there...I agree that I'm not overly political myself. Unfortunately, not everyone can control themselves.
The one thing I've gotten out of this thread, if I EVER experience this electronic phenomenon, I wont say ANYTHING about picking up any political commentators. I'll just say I was hearing some "real men of genius" Budweiser ads or something similarly innocuous.

Panda! There you are, dude, you missed some epic trolling last night at like 3 in the morning.
And for relevancy, Richard Simmons rawks.
I'm a very political person so watch out...lol.
Don't let it happen again.
If its your Valente, I would check for shielding in the control cavity. Those EMGs coupled with that preamp are going to boost any little bit of RF they can grab.
There is your problem. You're using a crappy cable. The shielding on the inside isn't braided, it's just wound... So over time the shielding unravels letting in sound waves.

oh man!!! That's extreme listening pain!! Try turning some knobs and picking up Keith Olbermann![]()

I had an Alembic Epic 5-string that picked up a country music station. Probably one of the few times "Alembic" and "country music" have been associated with each other. It stopped after a few days.
If I had a bass that was picking up right-wing talk radio, I'd burn it.
