Well I'm starting to build a 4x15 based off the sunn 415b. I will be posting pictures along the way and will be open to advice and ideas on future builds.
I can think of little more useless to me as a 4x15. Sorry OP, I hope you enjoy your labours and end up with something useful.
Wow! That sounds intense. I have no idea how i would transport something like that but if you have the means go for it.
Im hoping you are going to use NEO speakers...and either vertical, or at least offset like a Bag End 410. Saves some space. Im excited to see how it turns out! I just finished puttin my 215 Ampeg back together...its heavy.
Really he should be looking at speakers with the largest magnets possible, and building out of 1.5" OSB.
I just sold my 415 Sunn that I bought in 1974 and lugged all over the place. I never noticed that it was a sealed cabinet, and it is driving me nuts that I'll never know how it would have sounded if it was vented. I recommend NEO!
Best of luck to you. Consider the weight and the thickness of your wood you're using. I admire anyone who chases their dreams.
i would think 2 2x15's would work just as well ... i used that setup when i was young and didn't worry about my spine ..!?! i used to put a 2x15 on each side of the drummer ... poor drummer ..! ha
Wow you rock dude! I have a Sunn 4x12 and it's pretty big. Now before you start you should put your Chiropractor on speed dial. ....reminds me of when I drank and smoked together.....
