The cover arrived in time for New Years and man does it look sweet. It fits like a glove and will keep this thing lookin' nice over the long haul. Link Removed had great service, the quality is A+, and I can't say enough good things about them.

Now my dream combo is complete. ;)

Hit the road mode.

Rather poor pics but here it is. A bit bigger than I thought it would be but I don't think it weighs 50lbs even with the amp in the slot.

The tone is beautiful with way more bottom than I thought it would have. I hope I never have a gig where I need anymore than this as it is very convenient and with my bass strapped over my shoulder it is a one load scenario. Beautiful!!

Anyway, kudos to the OP for the design and to Don for carrying out the project so well.

Wow, the vertical 2x10 combo looks amazing... I assume it has quite a bit more bottom than the regular 2x10 would? How much was the cabinet?

My horizontal 2x10 just shipped today from Don! I can't wait to get it! It's exactly like the one in the very beginning of this thread.

I'm pumped! He's now gonna build me a exact matched cab with the 1x15 in it, so I can stack them perfectly. WHOOHOO! I'll put pics up in a few days when I receive it - not to show you anything new, but cuz I'm excited. LOL

I'll get some recorded samples of it and post them soon, too.

I've never tried one of those Carvin combos, but Carvin makes great products, so I'm sure they sound pretty good.

I tried them out and they sound good, but the 210 version has lots of highs and not a lot of lows, while the 115 version is better but not many highs and no real low lows. I'm wondering if your combo has a better balanced sound.

Since it's the same concept, why did you decide to go with the custom LDS instead of just going with one of Carvin's ready-made BX500 combos? Just curious, I'm trying to decide which way to go myself.

First of all, I thought it was an original idea and I wanted to see it come together (I'm a big idea person). Second, the design I came up with is more flexible. Its easy to swap heads, and I could make the dimensions so that many different heads would fit. Third, the BX500 was brand new at the time, so I don't think Carvin offered those combos two years ago when I came up with this idea (or if they did they were a new offering). Last, I'm one of those types of people who is intrigued by custom stuff. From my car, to my basses, to my living room furniture. I'm one of those guys who loves "one of a kind" stuff. I gotta personalize everything. What can I say... its a curse. ;)
