My New Studio Build (perhaps overly detailed)

So once the drywall is done, what's the next layer going to be for the interior?

Construction sequence (ideally, assuming the electrical is done) from this point on:

1. Drywall (mud and tape will be done by a contractor while other items are finished)
2. HVAC (once mud and tape is finished)
3. Final electrical (once mud and tape is finished)
4. Mini split refrigerant vacuum and seal check (done by a contractor)
   
5. Sound door
6. Flooring underlayment
7. Flooring
8. Trim
9. Paint
10. Vestibule storage shelving
    
11. Acoustic treatments (including rug at the mix desk)
    
12. Fixed gear installation (rack, rack gear, mix desk, raven, computer, etc.)
    
13. Furniture (i.e. one mix chair and a couple of stools for performers)
14. Instrument wall hangers
    
15. Instruments, cases, etc.

I'm sure I've forgotten something, but that's the bulk of it.

Not that long. My goal is to have the doors open by the end of summer. I’ve scheduled time off work to make big strides on the 25th and 26th of this month and will probably take more time off in August as well.

wow dude that's insanely close. you must be giddy. i remember when this thing started (a long while back, some dudes on this forum still had hair back then) and its taken a while, but gotta be gratifying to be so close to the end.

Green Glue sealant goes in all material gaps, both planned and otherwise, as well as whatever the finishing material is (ie mud and tape, flooring underpayment, trim, texture and paint, etc.). GG sealant is not the same as GG compound.

Stockpile relocated for the last time. About to put up the last of the clips and hat channel on the west wall, which will complete that scope of work for the project.

This is why you order more clips than you think you’ll need. The electrical is in a bad place relative to the clip spacing. Fortunately on an adjacent stud I was able to thread the needle (screws) between the electrical. This will necessitate an additional clip in this row that I hadn’t accounted for in my estimate.

Went to Home Depot to pick up more screws. Forgot that I needed another 2x6 to build the final drywall ledger. I don’t want to go back, so I’ll start drywalling the north end and deal with the ledgers tomorrow.

Found some scrap lumber in my debris pile that allowed me to build the ledgers without a Home Depot trip. Now to finish the second layer on the south wall so I can then finish the west wall clips and channel.

One panel up on the north wall. This was totally out of sequence, but I wanted to get at least one full panel up today. Done for the day due to other obligations, but I’ll be back at it tomorrow.

I don’t partake in any kind of smoke, so it’ll have to be a celebratory beer. I live in the land of tasty microbrews, so the only difficulty will be choosing which one.

Clips and hat channel are done. I overestimated the clips by 3, and the hat channel by exactly one box. Close enough
