I've been continuing going thru my preamps and pedals and have made some progress with the clean up. I've been focusing on the ones that aren't on my board and trying to simplify. I'm a firm believer that gear should be played, not sit in closets.
For those of you wondering what's not on my board:
DSM Bass Simplifier
Sushibox Dr. Watson
Sushibox Slampegg
Master Effects Monoblock
Sansamp Geddy Lee
Eden WTDI
Eden Terra Nova
Trace Elliott GP7(?)
SIB Fatdrive
Black Mountain Signal
The Terra Nova is up for sale. I love the tone, but it's more of a centerpiece type of preamp, I was hoping to use it as a swap out - it sounds better and is more flexible than the WTDI for sure, but it's also a lot bigger and has a lot of features that I don't need.
The Black Mountain Signal, for bass at least, is much less of a preamp and more of a dirt box. I would never use it alone, but it adds a nice console like tone and when I drive it hard a nice clipping. I may have to find a spot for it on my board.
I fully intend to whittle them down more, but every time I pull them out I remember how much I like them. The grind of the Dr. Watson, the punch of the Monoblock (I mean PUNCH). The Monoblock is what I wish an SVT sounded like.
The Geddy Lee is super flexible. One of the big surprises. The WTDI and Trace Elliott give me those classic tones. And there is nothing like the Fatdrive.
