My Thunderbird by Mike Lull

Out of curiosity, why a bolt on neck? Beautiful bass by the way. I've been sorely tempted to get a T-bird recently but The Warden says no way right now.

From the [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]:

"Being a bolt-on neck, the T-Bass has the brightness and articulation the originals were lacking."

One of the hottest T's ever! :hyper:

How's she balance?

Really it's perfect!

As you can see in this pic the strap pins are actually in the traditional locations that Gibson used, I think the smaller headstock and Hipshot tuners were what was needed to make the body design balance, and this one (like all post '88 Gibsons too) balances effortlessly, you can also see he's modified the heel shape and the backside of the lowere bout to give better upper register access ( I don't play much above the 12th fret tho :). I can't say enough words of praise for Mike's work, this bass plays so nice and sounds wonderful ( think loud angry P Bass) with either fingers or a pick, it's gone to two local shows with me and it has been a real pleasure to play.
The only downside lately has been my job, it's keeping just busy enough that I haven't had much chance to play it.

Fun to see this thread again after a bit more than a year with my Lull, I still love it!
It may be a bit pricey but trust me, it's worth every $
