To really get a sense of what the Kosmos feature is doing, I think you'll need to step away from any of the 'superbuilds' no matter how compact and try with a compact production cab to get a real sense, or if someone has say, one of the old Schroeders around or something.

I'm not implying any of the small GB cabs need the Kosmos, only that, wanting to demonstrate what it does at a GB builder's workshop, they would do, at least better than any of the F-ful and F-less lines with their extended bass response. I wouldn't expect it to do much with an Acme either. JMhO.

Make things easy on yourself. Use the same bass with same knob settings through the same cab. Differences in amp setting will be audible and consistent. When you start throwing in different cabs, etc, you just make more work for yourself and muddy the waters. Your f212 is a great cab for fair testing.

All well and good, but we're discussing the Kosmos circuit, and it is a special case IMO: the F212 is probably too great of a cab to test it - what it does is probably more noticeable, and closer to real-world application, with a normal 110 or a 112.

I dont disagree with this statement. The Kosmos really isnt something I need with my F212.

Personally, I'd love to hear what cosmos does with a 3015LF in a very very small, sealed box. Yes, you'd still need a mid driver.

It will be interesting to see the difference between the Low EQ control, and the 2 Kosmos, with regards to troublesome rooms most "bass" in what situations.

Besides one of the Kosmos is much like a subOctave so it should be BETTER with a 3015LF, IMO.

Yeah the MM isn't lacking in the low end and doesn't get shy at high volumes.

-true, in a really boomy room you might opt to replace your supercab's actual lows with the psycho- qu'est-ce que c'est effect;

Mr Peavey,
One of the things I find really interesting is that you have and rock some fairly boutique gear, including a JGR pre, and you're familiar with others (Monique, etc) and you're so delighted with this groovy, ridiculously inexpensive amp.
I'm really happy with my Genz Benz. Reading TB I find myself wondering "hmm, if I spent 3-4x as much on one of these lovely boutique amps (or pres plus a power amp) maybe I would sound even better."
The reality is that practicing more impacts my sound more than a component upgrade, and I really have other things on which to spend the extra $1.5K.
I should probably spend less time reading TB...

I have only spent a little bit of time with the Mini Mega so far, but my initial impressions are that it can hold its own, in terms of tone, power, flexibility, with pretty much any high quality bass amplification rig, including the "boutique" stuff. Nothing comes across as a "compromise." Like anything else, it won't make every single player as happy as they can possibly be, but I think this amp will make a lot of people very, very happy. Even if they are used to spending a lot more on their gear...

I hope that Peavey's supply chain is ready for the demand that I expect this amp to generate.

It's been years since I've bought new gear (other than strings, straps, and picks) but this amp might pull me off the bench...

This reflects my findings exactly. The amp feels/sounds very high quality. I dont sense much of a baked in tone, but there is some warmth that is added with the gain set low, and the crunch turned on. The eq is flexible, and works as you would expect a parametric mid to work. The narrow Q's are a nice touch.
