FWIW, my point is that people shouldn't worry "OMG... it's not loud enough at 9:00... I should feel like I've been run over by a heard of elephants by now!!!" because they are used to other amps which put 90% of the usable volume in the first 1/4 turn of the knob. I'm saying turn it up until it is loud enough and don't worry about where the knobs are relative to another amp.i don't have a problem with the 7pro's or the GB SL900's gain or master volume's taper. IME, neither one of them are too touchy and come on all at once (like on some other amps).
No, the potentiometer's taper is independent of other settings.Isn't the taper of the master volume dependent on the gain setting?
Not important at all... unless of course one prefers being able to use the full rotation of the volume control for fine adjustment instead of only 1/3 or 1/2 of it.Also, not sure I get why that would be important. As long as you can get what the amp says it delivers, does it really matter if a volume pot stops working at 2:00 or 5:00?
