NAMM 2012 Megathread....

At probably $2k street. I somehow doubt it. Which I am sure is why they are custom order. They probably don't ever expect to sell a lot of them. But it makes for good press and helps sell their other products. Looks like a cool amp.

At $2k, you can buy a REAL SVT, or get a VT Bass Deluxe and a class D amp head AND a cab to go with it...I don't see a lot of these getting moved :smug:

The new GK MB Fusion 800 and new MB cabs were killer. They told me they'd be released in July.

These companies need to learn from Genz Benz! Get everyone excited, hot and bothered and release the goods right away after everyone is stirred up! It's harder to talk yourself out of a purchase when you have that first initial excitement....gotta have it feeling!

Hahaha, oh man Tech21 are just totally clueless aren't they?
I'm sure a couple of suckers bought the overpriced and underpowered 350w and a couple of suckers will buy the 1000w version but I don't get how they see themselves selling many of these?

I bet they looked at all the pros using 300w TUBE amps and didn't make the connection that 300w tube is very different from 300w solid state.

I mean come on, any one can buy a VT Bass and a power amp for way cheaper, possibly even $2000 less.

They did not attend. My 'hits of the show'

TecAmp Puma 500/900... Small, powerful, wonderful

Genz Shuttle 6.2 12t combo. Small, light, full, loud. The 9.2 Max and Streamliner continue at the top of the category

Epifani Piccolo (warm and fat ) and 501 (crisp, modern, powerful) are great improvements over the earlier amps. Super quality and feel and tone

GK MBFusion800... Impressive tone, features and wump per pound

Kjung, just curious as to why you excluded the Glock Blue Soul from your hits list. Thanks

The only way I would buy this if I was going to keep this for the rest of my life. Becuz, if I decided a year from now that I didn't care for it anymore and wanted to sell it to get something else, how would I convince someone else to buy it off of me?

If anyone buys this they would have to swallow the bitter pill that possibly it will be with them forever.

Pure IMO. The size, weight and price just doesn't speak to me. Again, it it basically a somewhat smaller, somewhat lighter, somewhat higher powered Soul II. It is too large and heavy for a 'bag' (IMO) again, and various other heads like the new Tecamp stuff, the new Epifani stuff, and even the Genz Streamliner will give you that fat, creamy, clean but warm tone with that crystal clear top end in smaller, louder, and much more affordable formats.

Again, IMO.... it was an impressive head... just others were equally or more impressive to me, having the same general tone profile, at a fraction of the size, weight and cost.

I'm also interested in the orange terror combo, and here is what I found out. The orange rep told me they were expected in jan 20th and to reserve at my orange dealer. I called humbucker music and they told me the price was 1549. They are only making the 2x12 model, despite earlier reports.

Thanks. I kinda thought that was the case. Well, the final price WILL potentially be an issue for since the size and weight are not as much of an issue.

This year....? ;)

Both the MB800 and the MB Fusion 800 would probably be a GREAT match with my cab and for my tastes, I'm just so tired of the way GK introduces new models that there are no longer any GKs on my radar.
