I hear ya SMASH, but that blue Warwick could possibly find situations in which it would be overlooked....

Who is she?

Seriously? DB750, especially through a small Aguilar cab, is "transparent" in your book?

As with fancy basses, to each his own.

I'll say again - TB really does need a "shrug" smiley.

Yes, seriously - only talking about the amp, because it of course needs to be played through cabs that are not pressed to their limits, and I've mainly played it on a 8x10 :)

But sure, each to his own, some things just can't be argued :p

That Mark Bass stuff looks pretty awesome! INFO? :D

Unfortunatley most of the colour schemes for the Flea Bass look like puking up after eating as many brightly coloured foods as possible.

And is it just me or would that look really classy with a Black Guard?

That bass needs a Kahler tremolo.
Wait that would make it look like that Carvin from the '80's.....
yeah it needs one.

Unless you fear that the mere mention of the word "p***" will cause an issue... Of course, a simple explanation would take away the fears of the "prude" and allow them to see the innocent nature of what you are looking at on the computer...

Yes the mere mention of "words" can cause a problem especially if you work for a great company that doesnt tolerate harassment in the work place or inappropriate websites. Hate to have TalkBass blacklisted on my company's portal.

I love the NAMM thread, but the title was definitely NSFW.

On the whole Aguilar NAMM thing...

Yeah, I noticed it too... kudos to Dave for getting his amps in so many booths for that kind of presence at NAMM. Strong sales/marketing move. Can't fault them for that. I'm sure at least some (like I guess Lull's) woulda' been there anyway, but it did seem like there was a bit more Aggie presence this year than at least my last time at the LA show ('07).

On the whole tone thing, I'll definitely not touch the transparent word at all, but I will say this... I'm generally not a huge fan of the Aggie stuff. Top quality stuff, but not typically my thing. HOWEVER, forgiving the "sonic crush" that pervades the NAMM environment, I must say I was not at all bothered or frustrated by the Aggie rigs I played through... much to my own surprise.

In short, yeah, you're right, but at least for me, it wasn't a problem at all.

Our pics are now working over at bassgearmag.com, and I have also set up a YouTube channel (see the link in my sig) which has some Flip videos from the NAMM Show. Terry Buddingh will be posting some video interviews I did, as well.

Tom.
