You are the guy who got sexually aroused by the Cutlass right? lol

Congrats, I have the same bass. I prefer it to the Cutlass. It is a lifetime keeper and the tone is incredible.

Put Chromes on it if you want to have your mind blown.

I had my eye on 58 or 63 for a long time, but of course, it's very expensive. I finally got a great deal on a new one and just went for it. Just like EVERYONE else says, IT'S TRUE, the American Vintage is SO WORTH IT over the American Professional. I had mine setup with La Bella flats and it just sounds so balsy and awesome.

The SMELL of this bass when you open the case, OH MY GOD. It smells like a freshly waxed 60s car. The build, fit and finish is absolutely flawless. Mine weighs 8/13 so pretty light as well (with covers.) The necks is extremely comfortable and to me feels much better than the American standard/pro. It's wide but somehow just feels so nice that way - and I have very small hands (my girlfriend says I should be a women's hand model - LOL!)

Anyway, for anyone on the fence about this bass, just do it immediately. I can't see how you would ever regret it.

Lastly, as people have said many times, pictures do these basses NO justice. They are so beautiful in person.

Great looking bass! a faded sonic blue AVRI '63 P is on my shortlist of GAS basses.

had to take covers off to get the pick guard plastic off - looks so much better on! I got used to playing with the pickup cover in very quickly. Definitely changes the tone though, more tubby sound closer to the neck.
