I went to Sam Ash to replace my recently deceased vox amplug and this followed me out.

Used but in mint condition. Not much to say about it. It's a pretty straight forward bass. I've never had a single coil p like this. The setup is crap so I'll see how it sounds later.

I have one of those and I had issues with the pickup. The E-string was super fat and growly but the A and D strings where a bit bland. The G-String was a bit harsh. Then, I tried to make adjustments of the truss rod and the bridge saddles and I was never able to get good string to string balance. Also, the pickup had a bad case of single-coil hum.

I had Mandolin Brothers install a Joe Barden noiseless single-coil blade pickup and that cured all the ills. However, I wish the Joe Barden pickup could give me that fat growl I had on the E-string with the original Squier pickup...

I had one of the early blue ones, In one band it was the only bass I used ever. I had a duncan quarter pounder in it but the rest stock.

I just set it up and it's great. No issues at all really. It's heavy and it's awkward to anchor my thumb on this kind of pickup, but it sounds great.

Yeah, there was one of these at the store were I picked up my VM Jag, I was sorely tempted, but the neck on the Jag settled the issue, and I usually favor maple necks with maple fingerboards, but the neck on the Jag was not to be passed up.

Crap...I might buy one for that reason alone. The MIJ/CIJ reissues have the stupid router holes. Looks great!

So weird. The Fender Cabronita has the cnc hole. The Squier Cabronita doesn't.

According to the fender website it's pine. According to musiciansfriend is basswood. Whatever it is, it's heavy.

Weird, I'd have to guess pine then, but I've never seen a basswood body that wasn't a solid color. Strange that either of those would be heavy.

Yup. Chromes. I'm not a fan, but they sound pretty good.

Love that finish. Axetreme Creations, Chandler PG Heaven and probably others could make you a clear PG. That was my solution on a Stingray where I wanted to see the wood and not have empty holes. You can put the screws in the holes, but then it still looks like something is missing.

Love mine, it's the butterscotch blonde with a black pickguard.

I have good luck with the Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder pickup for this bass. I am NOT a fan of their others, but this one really does nail it pretty well. Very deep with lots of growl, and I have GHS Precision Flats on it. Also, I got a chrome pickup cover for the bass, which made playing on it much more comfy. I'd give that a shot regardless

Awesome! It looks much better without the pickguard indeed!
