I've lessened the aggressiveness by the following:
I have the pus lowered on the B side to about 1/8" (neck pu) and 3/16" (bridge pu) abouve the bass face; and on the G side I have the pu about -3/8" (neck pu) and 5/16" (bridge pu).
I've raised the magnets pretty much only on the G string side, quite close to the string with both pus.

That finish is gorgeous! Would give a ballpark figure of what you paid? I am asking because I am finding G&L tends to be cheaper than similar Music Man basses despite being a smaller operation. One last thing, I shared your opinion of flabby L-2500 B strings. In fact, I found that Tribute L-2500s had better B strings. That said, I once special ordered a L-1505 fretless that had a killer B string. It was the best fretless I ever owned outside of my Pedulla. I am glad that the B on your pretty, green L-2500 delivers.
Some empress bodies look bland and others look like ash. Nice figuring on some!

I had both a Trib and a USA L2500s (got the Trib and liked it so much I got a USA). I didn't really notice any difference B-string wise on mine. The fit/finish was a bit nicer on the USA for sure. The main difference in mine were the necks. Both were very comfy, but the Trib was more rounded/C-shaped while the USA was a flatter sorta affair. Granted this was around 10 years ago . . .That finish is gorgeous! Would give a ballpark figure of what you paid? I owned a Tribute maybe 14-13 years ago. I was a TB newbie at that time.

Yes indeed. I have been a G&L as well as a Music Man fan for decades but the Stingray 5 was always the clear cut winner in my head based on my limited L2500 experience. Well that is no longer the case and I love this bass as much as I do my beloved Stingray 5. I am just as excited and inspired when I take it out of the gig bag.
I too cannot say enough about Rocket Music. I have purchased at least 15 Basses from Greg as well as amps and cabinets. The reason is simply he has great gear at great prices and has excellent customer service. Thank you @RocketMusic Greg!
My number one is a greenburst L2500 with matching headstock. G&L’s burst finishes are spectacular. I did the K-mod for inner coils and play it passive 95% of the time. And a lovely B! Enjoy, brother!!
I actually let out a low whistle when I scrolled up to your greenburst. Then I went to Rocket Music and saw the sold on what is likely the same ax. Stunning. Gratz on ya!

I LOVE the aesthetics of the 4+1 L-2500s. They look so much better than the current model - the body isn't squished. The neck dive concern was a non issue IMO. Bring it back G&L! I'll whip out muh wallet.
I actually just removed my battery. I would periodically switch on the preamp, realize I didn't like the sound and then switch it off. So, battery is gone!
