Give it a black pickguard and it could compete with the Schecter Stiletto Stealth for most blacked out bass. I have a Stiletto Stealth and though I love it, it's too "murdered out" for me. I would love to have a custom magenta pickguard made for it.

Not blackest, but highly diggable. I'm normally not a tort person (except when it comes to food), but on matte black it's got this nice glowing coals (if you're into cozy) or fires of hell (if you're not) vibe.

Agreed on this. And that version of tort looks pretty dark anyway - so the contrast is there but low key.

OP - Curious how you like the painted neck compared to a standard satin or gunstock finish on maple? I know a few companies do the black/painted necks, but I could never get along with the tactile feel...

Yes. I use 0000 grade steel wool moistened with mineral oil. Others might have another approach
