i drew out the body shape for him, then he made a masonite template of it for me to approve before he actually started building the neck thru body. since i had a maple series I alembic, i wanted it to have a natural finish with rosewood stringers (all of his guitars were mahogany at the time). i also gave him instructions on my preference for the scale length and neck profile.

That is Awesome. Great Job. I am looking at getting one just like yours, if this deal works out. You know there are laws for what they have done to you. They owe you some money. Even if you don't want the money, the recognition would be nice. They absolutely stole your design. That's against the law. You have 1000's of bass player that will back you up because they love your design. Please tell me that you have talked to a lawyer about this?

Great shape, I loved the mockingbird shape ever since I saw Joe Perry playing one in a 70's guitar magazine. Can you explain your creative process and how you came up with this unique design? Definitely "out of the box" thinking on this one. Kudos for creating such an iconic guitar shape.

i was the mid 70's and i was going for a blend between a rickenbacker and a thunderbird and just experimented with a few shapes until i thought it would look nice as a bass.

Thank Christ that the Mockingbird wound up looking like neither one of them and became the instantly recognisable timeless, iconic BCR bodyshape that it is today...
