I would have put it closer to the ‘82 end of the range rather than ‘86 due to the knobs. I had a Foundation that dated to ‘83 with the metal knobs.

I don’t know production numbers, but I would guess the T-45 was probably much fewer than the T-40 only from my own experience of having seen at least a half dozen T-40s for every one T-45.
The one you have is certainly a nice looking bass. I’m a Foundation freak myself, but only own one at the moment.

Peavey certainly built some super solid instruments in the 80’s.

Loves me some foundations too. It’s an ‘82

Really NICE! I think I'd like to check out one of those bad boys! Years ago, a local music store had a Peavey guitar I liked but didn't buy and have regretted ever since...! Ive been a bass player for many years (49), but like to fool around with guitars. Have a couple I'm courting.

After 5 T-40’s I think I found what I was looking for. It’s the color combo I dig and one pickup will do. It’s heavy but balances perfect on a strap. Restrung it with labella flats(through body set) and will let it chill for a bit. The case is the best version and condition I’ve seen

I love this!

My first bass was a Peavey Patriot and I always wanted a "real" bass and didn't appreciate how well built and great sounding the bass was until many years later. My best friend had a T-40 for a brief period in high school (late 80s) and it was a beast.

That’s stunning!!!

I was looking at the burst on one of my T-40’s the other day thinking - “it kinda makes me wish it didn’t have the scratchplate” and then I see this... better add a T-45 to the wanted list
